Breastfeeding Education & Support

Parents are often told that breastfeeding is 'best' for their newborn - it is the 'natural' way to feed their baby.  This can lead to the assumption that it will just happen 'naturally'.

Unfortunately, this is rarely the case - the act of breastfeeding is a learnt skill, one that we no longer watch while growing up and so often don't fully understand when it is our turn.  Misinformation and myths, coupled with lack of support and education, can leave new parents feeling anxious and confused.

If you're pregnant, doing a breastfeeding class can help you prepare for what is to come.  If you have already given and are having issues I would love to help.

Breastfeeding and Newborn Preparation Classes

A 2 hour small group or private session jam packed with information on understanding how breastfeeding really works, what your newborn really needs/wants, some post birth planning to look after yourself, and how to deal with some common issues

Breastfeeding Support

If you are currently struggling with breastfeeding - maybe you have been told you're not making enough milk, or baby is not latching - or maybe you just want some advice or reassurance, I would love to help you.

I am an IBCLC (the only formally recognised qualification for a 'lactation consultant') and endorsed midwife - this means I can provide Medicare rebates up to 6 weeks post birth, order tests and prescribe medication, if needed.  I have worked in neonatal ICU since early 2007 and private practice since late 2017.  Breastfeeding support is my passion.
